The SCS3 is an extremely versatile, small-sized, magnetically shielded, two-way loudspeaker designed for high performance stereo and multichannel music and video home entertainment systems. It performs equally well as an excellent full-range stereo pair, surround-sound, and high performance center-channel speaker.

All of THIEL's speaker systems are sonically matched, so you can put together an incredibly realistic multi-channel home theater system with SCS3s and any of THIEL's other seven high performance models. Shown here are SCS3s for rear and center speakers with a pair of CS6s for the front channels.

Coaxially mounted tweeter and woofer for realistic sound regardless of placement or listener location

Because shelf-sized speakers can be placed at almost any height and either vertically or horzontally, conventional shelf designs are not able to achieve realistic sound reproduction due to their inaccurate time respose - the sounds from the individual drivers reaching your ear at different times. The SCS3's THIEL-designed coaxially mounted drivers allow the cabinet to be oriented vertically or horizontally, and to deliver exceptional full-range performance regardless of speaker or listener location since the listener is always exactly the same distance from the driver.
In addition to the SCS3's coaxially mounted drivers, its Coherent Source design also utilizes a phase coherent crossover system to provide extremely accurate phase, amplitude, and power response.
