Fully balanced circuitry performs best.
Balanced circuitry is a special dual configuration that rejects noise and interference -- not only from external cables, but also from the AC power line itself. In an Ayre component even the signals from conventional sources are converted to the balanced format, resulting in vivid, lifelike performances, presented against an uncannily quiet background.

Zero feedback circuitry delivers completely natural performance.
Conventional designs use negative feedback to compare the output signal to the input signal, which introduces time-domain errors and other artifacts. In contrast, Ayre’s exclusive zero-feedback circuits are designed for intrinsically pure linearity, delivering performance that is coherent and natural.

A marvelous-sounding room was set up by Ayre Acoustics, Inc. All the electronic equipment was Ayre’s own and was designed by Ayre’s main guy, Charles Hansen himself. This was a clear case where the whole was bigger and better than the sum of its parts.

The sound of the Ayre room was exceptional. And addictive. I did not want to leave this place of sonic bliss – I wanted to just stay there and continue to listen to this stunning presentation. It was Ayre who was responsible for me missing some of the other exhibits. But guess what – I’m not a bit annoyed.
